Ashford University Degree Review
Ashford University’s humble beginnings started in 1891 when it opened as a boarding school for girls known as Mount St. Clare Academy. Ashford University is located in the small town of Clinton, Iowa and changed into a liberal arts institution in 1918. Distance Learning programs were first offered in 2002. Ashford University is no longer sponsored by the Sisters of St. Francis but is run by a for-profit Higher Education organization.
Ashford University offers Associate’s, Bachelor’s, and Master’s degrees both on campus and online. Ashford University enrolls more than 18,000 students every year. Ashford offers fourteen different majors including Accounting, Business, Healthcare and Criminal Justice. Students can also choose from several Bachelor of Science majors including Biology, Health Science or Natural Science.
Ashford University Online Degrees
Ashford University Online offers one of the fastest accelerated courses with five to six week courses helping you complete your degree in as little as 12-24 months. Tuition rates are also considered among the most affordable in the country. Tuition assistance is also available for military personnel. Uniquely, students can take advantage of transferring up to 99 approved credit hours to apply toward a bachelor’s degree.

Powered by Blackboard technology, students can log into their classes 24 hours a day and easily interact with classmates, faculty and discussions. Ashford University online courses are completely flexible and students only need to log in at least two separate times a week to meet attendance requirements. No group projects or residencies are required. Ashford University online programs are geared for the busy working student who wants to get a leg up in the fast-growing computer science job market.
Ashford University does not currently accept student in Arkansas, Kentucky, Minnesota or Mississippi.
